Beginning With the End in Mind
In this week’s video, you heard six different individuals speak about their personal journeys as adult educators. Just like them, you are on a journey, as both an adult educator and as an adult learner in this master’s program. Although this is just the start of this chapter in your journey, it is important to begin with the end in mind.
Close your eyes for a moment and envision yourself as a successful Walden graduate who shares Walden’s vision and mission, participates in a culture of scholarship, and embraces the mindset of a high-performing adult educator. With this vision in mind, fast-forward to your completion of the MS in Adult Learning program, and imagine that you are about to give a brief speech at your Walden University graduation ceremony. Based on the expectations of Walden University and the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Leadership, as well as your expectations for yourself as a graduate student, what would you like to be able to say to your colleagues, faculty, friends, and family as you look back on your journey? Consider how the expectations of Walden and its culture of scholarship will have helped to promote your personal, professional, and academic growth. Think about how you will feel, having achieved these accomplishments.
DQ:
Post the key messages of your graduation speech. Be sure that they reflect Walden’s expectations, vision, mission, and culture of scholarship, as well as your personal goals and aspirations. Include references or examples from this week’s Learning Resources that support your ideas (at least 2 resources in reference and correct use of subtitles). 150 words
